2025 Kia Sorento Basics

The Sorento invites everyone along for the ride, with three rows of seating for 6 or 7 passengers. Its second-row seats, available as captain’s chairs or a bench seat, slide and fold with a touch. Behind the third row, there’s 12.6 cu. ft. of space for everyday shopping trips, plus a dual-level cargo floor to keep items hidden from sight. When you need to carry larger items, the second- and third-row seats fold to create 75.5 cu. ft. of space.

LX and S trims are equipped with the Sorento’s 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that creates 191 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque, with fuel economy up to an EPA-estimated 31 MPG highway. EX and higher trims get a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine for 281 horsepower, 311 lb.-ft. of torque, and 29 MPG highway efficiency. Drivers can customize driving dynamics using Drive Mode Select, with modes like Sport for quicker acceleration and Eco for improved efficiency.

X-Pro Off-Road Features

The Sorento offers 4 off-road trims, including 3 X-Line models with exclusive styling, high-utility roof rails, and an increased 8.2 inches of ground clearance for navigating uneven terrain. These models all come with Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with a Center-Locking Differential that provides power to the wheels with the most grip, giving you more control when traveling over a variety of surfaces.

The X-Pro is the most capable of the Sorento’s off-road models, including all X-Line features plus 17-inch matte-black alloy wheels and all-terrain tires. It also comes with an increased towing capacity of 4,500 lbs.

Drive Wise Driver Assistance

To keep you and your passengers safer on the road, the Sorento is engineered to the highest safety standards and comes with 9 standard airbags. It has even been awarded an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK. The Sorento also has a long list of standard Drive Wise technologies that can help you detect and react to potential dangers nearby.

One such feature is Blind-Spot Collision Warning, which keeps an eye out for vehicles traveling in or approaching your blind spots and issues audible and visible warnings. Should you try to change lanes when there’s a risk of collision with another vehicle, this system can apply the brakes to the outside wheel to help you return to your lane.
