Picture this: you’re enjoying a nice quiet ride, and then you gently step on the brakes to come to a stop in traffic. Suddenly, you hear a strange squealing noise, which you’ve never heard before. This is just one of many signs telling you that you need a brake repair from your Kia dealership. Learning the other signs indicating your brakes are in disrepair will help you get to the dealer as soon as the brakes need service.

5 Signs You Need a Brake Repair from Your Kia Dealership
1. You Hear Unusual Squealing Noises
The noises you might hear when you’re driving along and hit the brakes will usually be a squealing or screeching sound. This sound occurs when your brake pads have worn down to the point that the metal brake pad wear indicator has become exposed and is scratching against your rotors. This is a pretty easy fix. When you get to the dealer, we’ll install new brake pads, and that may be the only service your brakes need during the visit.
2. You Hear Grinding Noises
You step on the brake pedal, and as you do, your car makes a grinding sound. This happens when you need new brake pads but the brake pads are very worn down. They’re significantly more worn down than when they were just making squealing sounds, and now they’re scratching your rotors, making their surface uneven. The rotors may need to be turned or replaced at this point.
3. You Notice Your Vehicle Pulling
As you stop, you engage the brake pedal as usual but find your car pulling to one side. This is often a sign that there’s something wrong with your brakes. It could be a simple issue, such as foreign matter contaminating your brake fluid. It could also be something more serious, such as unevenly worn brake linings or a jammed caliper piston.
4. You Feel No Resistance When Braking
You put your foot on the brake pedal and feel it sink right to the floor with no resistance. This can be a sign that there’s a leak somewhere in the braking system. It might be an air leak, so you won’t notice any brake fluid leaking out if this is the issue. However, it could also be a brake fluid leak, which is usually accompanied by a puddle of brake fluid forming under your car while it’s parked.
5. You Feel Feedback When You Brake
You’re driving normally and step on the brake pedal to gently stop in traffic. When you do, the brake pedal starts vibrating. This is very unusual; the pedal should only vibrate or pulsate during emergency stops when your anti-lock brakes engage. Vibration during regular braking may be a sign that your rotors are warped.
